Not So Nice Lice

     Lice. One of the most dreaded words a mother can hear from their child's school, or daycare. As a school nurse lice didn't really worry me or scare me as far as my involvement with it that was until I got word from my child's daycare they had some cases of it. Immediately panic set in about if my child had it and all that would go into treating my child, and cleaning items in the household. 

    As soon as I picked my child up I began looking through her hair and at 3 she was not the most cooperative. To make things more difficult she has blonde as blonde can be hair, but I had to know what we were dealing with. Thankfully there were no nits or lice to be found. After breathing a sigh of relief  I took the researching in my essential oil reference book to see what oils I could use to  prevent headlice. As well as  looking to the internet for other essential oil moms who might have encountered this situation prior to me. Based on what I read I combined several things and came up with my version of lice away spray. I use it every morning like a detangler spray on my daughter and on top of keeping lice away it also has made her hair softer and shinier. I now have other mom's asking for me to make them their own bottle as well. Once again the wonderful power of essential oils has amazed me.
